DMU 100/130 Year Anniversary Celebration: Guided Tours will be given at 9:00am and 1:00pm. It takes approximately 3 hours to tour all 3 locations. To sign up call 712.263.4154.
Hy-Vee Wine and Spirits in Denison will have a cook-out on Saturday from 11 – 1, consisting of a hot dog, chips, and a drink for $2. All proceeds will go to the Crawford County Hunger Fighters.
Aquatic Center Youth Tryathalon: Sponsored by Denison Aquatic Fun Center and Something Unique. Starting at 9:00am. Open to Ages: 6-15. Entry Fee: Register by June 6 Individual $15 – Team of 3 $20. After June 6 Individual $20 – Team of 3 $25. Not all shirt sizes will be guaranteed with registrations received after June 6. Registrations are available at the Aquatic Fun Center in Denison.
The Boy Scouts of Troop 55 in Denison will conduct their June paper drive on Saturday, June 14, at the Pronto parking lot. The Scouts will be there from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. to help individuals unload their tied, bundled or sacked newspapers. Individuals may bring their acceptable papers in paper bags or cardboard boxes but not in plastic bags.

On June 17, from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m., Iowa State University Extension and Outreach will conduct training at the Crawford County Extension office (35 South Main, Denison) for childcare providers and preschool teachers. The training will provide hands-on learning in order to teach the lessons in their classroom. Participants will receive a packet of materials to use immediately in their classroom for a registration fee of $10. The fees for service will be used to offset direct expenses and to support the Families County Extension Program. Participants will also receive two hours CDA 1: Providing a safe, healthy learning environment; 2. Steps to advance children’s physical and intellectual development. Those interested in participating in the Color Me Healthy program should contact the Ida County Extension office at 712-263-4697 to register.

American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Crawford County: the event will be held at the Denison High School beginning at 5:00 pm with opening ceremonies at 6:00 pm.

Donna Reed Theatre will be running a “Children’s Summer Movie Series” from June 25 – July 30. Movies will be shown every Wednesday afternoon at 2 p.m. Admission is $10 for all six movies if purchased before June 25 and $15 for all six movies if purchased after June 25.
