Fire Prevention Seminar at Reed House: at 1:30pm, presented by Denison Fire Dept., Fire Prevention Committee. Topics to be discussed: Smoke detectors, minimizing the risk of fire in the home, what to do in the event of a fire, proper use of fire extinguishers. Refreshments and snacks will be available, guests can register for a drawing for 1-combination pack smoke detector & CO2 detector.

Schleswig VFW Auxiliary #3930 will meet at 7 p.m. on Monday, October 13, in the back room of the Chrome Spur. Sixth District President Ronda Bochmann will inspect the auxiliary at 6:30 p.m.

Aquatic, Forest and Roadside Continuing Instructional Course: Crawford County Extension office will host an Aquatic, Forest and Rightof-Way Continuing Instructional Course (CIC) for commercial pesticide applicators. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. followed by sessions from 9 to 11:30 a.m. The registration fee is $35.
