- Goodwill Donation Drive: Trailer will be located at the United Methodist Church in Denison, 113 S 14th Street. They will be accepting clothing, shoes, furniture, appliances, etc. Your donations will support the programs and services Goodwill provides for people with disabilities and disadvantaging conditions. Friday, August 1
- Women in Business Impact Organization: from 8:30-9:30am at Cronk’s in Denison. Membership is Free and unless it is a sponsored event, all participants will be responsible to pay for their own refreshments.
Saturday, August 2
- Uptown Market: (Tropical Paradise-drinks w/ umbrellas, lawn chairs, leis and Hawaiian shirts.) In beautiful uptown Denison from 10 am to 1 pm. Grab a coffee, walk the historic streets, and take in the sights and sounds of Uptown Market. Shop local retailers and unique merchants including: Fresh produce, plants and flowers, baked goods, handcrafted goods, gourmet foods and local art. - DMU Open House: from 12-3 p.m. at West Broadway and 7th Street, Denison. Free picnic lunch, electric displays, water displays, interact with board members, energy efficient rebate information, and music provided by Coal Train Band from 1-3 p.m.
Monday, August 4
- The City Soccer Club is hosting a meeting at 6 p.m. on Monday, August 4, at Denison City Hall. The meeting is for parents and community volunteers and will focus on bringing the community together. The City Soccer Club encouraged parents to volunteer. For more information contact Nate at 402-212-2733.
- Blood Drive: Tuesday, August 5, 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., First United Methodist Church fellowship hall, 113 South 14th Street; call Janice Neppl at 712-263-3016 to make an appointment.
Wednesday, August 6
- Cooking Matters at the Store: Brought to you by Walmart and the ISU Extension and Outreach. Sessions are at Denison Fareway. Sessions begin at 9am and continue until 3pm. Sessions are 1.5 hours long. Want to save money at the store? Want to buy healthy foods for your family? Need some tasty healthy recipes? If you said yes, come join us for a free guided grocery store tour. All participants will receive $10 worth of healthy groceries of your choice, book of recipes, and a reusable grocery bag. - Denison Farmers Market: from 3-6 p.m. at the Northwest corner of Hwy 30 and 7th Street. Come check out the fresh produce from local farmers!
